Sex and Relationships Policy

Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) Consultation – June 2021

As part of your child’s education at St Merryn School, we promote their wellbeing and development through a comprehensive relationships, social, health education (RSHE) curriculum.

A Key element of the RSHE curriculum relates to relationships and sex education (RSE). The department for Education (DFE) released updated guidance on the delivery of RSE which schools were required to have in place by the end of the academic year 2021.  As always, all teaching will take place in a safe learning environment and will be underpinned by our school ethos and values.

As a school community, we are committed to working in partnership with parents, in all aspects of children’s schooling, and we held a parent consultation in June 2021

As part of this, we invited you to:

  1. Read through our draft RSHE policy
  2. Read the parent information leaflets
  3. View the information powerpoint
  4. Give your thoughts and opinions, by answering the questionnaire
